The Gear Shop
idlidu now has a curated equipment shop at idlidu.com/shop. It is a directory of instruments, audio equipment, lighting gear, costumes, accessories, and everything else a performance artist might need. Products are sourced from trusted merchants like Amazon India and Bajaao, with detailed descriptions, images, and approximate pricing.
When you click a product, you are redirected to the merchant's site to complete the purchase. We do not handle the transaction — the merchant does. idlidu earns a standard affiliate commission from the merchant for referring the sale.
Gear I Use — Your Personal Recommendations
Every artist on idlidu can now curate a "Gear I Use" section on their profile. From your dashboard, navigate to the new Gear page. You will see the full product catalog. Select the items you actually use, add a personal recommendation note for each, and reorder them however you like.
These recommendations appear on your public artist profile as a dedicated section. Your fans, fellow artists, and clients can see exactly what equipment you use and trust. It adds credibility to your profile and gives visitors a reason to explore beyond your portfolio.
50 Percent Commission Share
When someone purchases a product through your recommendation link, you earn 50 percent of the affiliate commission that idlidu receives from the merchant. The tracking is automatic — each artist's recommendations use unique referral sub-tags, so we know exactly which purchase came from which artist.
The commission varies by merchant and product category. Amazon Associates India pays 3 to 10 percent depending on the category. On a ten-thousand-rupee audio interface with a 6 percent commission, idlidu receives six hundred rupees. You receive three hundred rupees. It appears in your dashboard earnings under "Affiliate Referrals" and is paid through the same payout system as booking earnings. There is no extra cost to the buyer.
Why It Works
When a professional Tabla player says "This is the mic I use for every concert," that recommendation carries weight. It is not a generic product review from a stranger — it is a verified professional endorsing a specific piece of equipment they rely on for their livelihood.
For artists, it is passive income that requires no ongoing effort. Set up your recommendations once, and you earn every time someone makes a purchase through your profile. The more traffic your profile gets — through bookings, social shares, or organic search — the more affiliate earnings you generate.
How to Get Started
- Log in to your dashboard and click "Gear" in the sidebar
- Browse the product catalog and select items you use
- Add a personal note for each recommendation
- Reorder them by importance
- Save — your "Gear I Use" section is now live on your profile
New products are added regularly. If you do not see something you use, let us know and we will look into adding it to the catalog.
